|  | Start your Angkor Beyond Daytour with a drive northwards, leading through interesting cultural landscapes to Banteay Srei. This marvellous small temple really deserves the name "diamond of Angkor". The stone carvings of highest quality seem to be made of wood. We head further northwards to the Kulen Mountains. An easy jungle trek through the tropical dry rain forest (about 1 hour) leads us to the picturesque "River of Thousand Lingams". This place is called "Kobal Spean". |
 | This is a holy place, as in Angkorian times, the riverbed was carved with thousands of Lingams (the phallus symbol of Lord Shiva) and hindu gods and goddesses. The holy water fertilized the Angkorian plain. Your experienced English speaking tourguide explains you the meanings of the different carvings. Time for lunch in a local restaurant in Kobal Spean (not included). |
| At 1pm, we visit ACCB, the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity. It is the first nature conservation and endangered wildlife rescue and breeding centre in Cambodia. Here, we will be guided by an ACCB expert. From Kobal Spean we go on the old Angkorian road to the absolute highlight of your ANGKOR BEYOND experience: Beng Mealea Temple, still overgrown by jungle. You will have to climb over temple walls and can get the real "Indiana Jones Feeling". After the visit, we return to Siem Reap. End of daytour "Angkor Beyond". |
